QUESTION:
When I tried to install this software on my PDA, I got an error about needing Visual Basic. What now?

ANSWER:
If you have a Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 2003 OS for Pocket PC(otherwise known as Windows CE v4.2) and you have not installed Visual Basic (VB) Runtime, you will receive the error message, "The application you have launched requires Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime to be installed" .

If your PDA has Internet access, you can directly download the VB Runtime (using the "tap here" link) to the PDA and install it.

If your PDA does not have Internet access, do the following.

  1. Download the installer to the local hard drive of a desktop PC that has ActiveSync® installed.
  2. Connect your PDA to your laptop and start ActiveSync®.
  3. Copy the installer to your PDA.
  4. Click on the installer to start the installation wizard. Follow the instructions to install VB Runtime.
  5. Once VB Runtime is installed, run the installer for QuikStat Play-by-Play.
