Tech Note FSTN2: "Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported."

ISSUE:
When using Windows® Media Player to play a movie created by FireScout, only the title screen appears or the user receives the error message, "Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported."
RESOLUTION:
Each play entered in FireScout must have a video Begin time and a video End time. The Begin time must be before the End time. The behavior described above will occur if the video Begin and/or End times entered for the plays are missing or incorrect.
The purpose of the Layer Editor is to search a game for specific plays, then create movies. After using the Layer Editor to search for specific plays, check the times listed in the Play Listing at the bottom of the Edit Video window. Verify that the times have been entered properly. If the times are incorrect, close the Edit Video window and return to the Data Entry window to enter the correct times.
For more information about entering video Begin and End times in the Data Entry window while scouting a game, see the User's Guide. A print version of the User's Guide is distributed with the product.
