QUESTION:
My version of Windows® Movie Maker does not have the same menus and buttons referenced in the User's Guide. How do I capture video with Windows® Movie Maker 2?

ANSWER:

1. Open Windows® Movie Maker 2. Select Capture Video from the File menu.
2. Enter a title for the video on the Captured Video File screen.
3. Note the location in box 2 to which you are saving the video. You may change the location by clicking Browser. . . and navigating to another location.
4. On the Video Setting screen, click the button next to Digital device format (DV-AVI) and click Next.
5. On the Capture Method screen, click the button next to Capture parts of the tape manually. Make sure the box next to Show preview during capture is not checked. Click Next to continue.
6. Press Play on your VCR or camcorder. The picture will not appear in the Preview area of the Capture Video screen. If your VCR or camcorder is connected to a television, you should see the picture on the television screen. When the video gets to the point where you want to record, press the Start Capture button. When the video is done recording, press Stop Capture.
7. To capture another video, repeat step 5.
8. When done, click Finish, and then close Movie Maker 2.
