QUESTION:
I currently have the annual subscription of FireScout and plan to upgrade to the permanent license. How do I install the permanent license so that I don't lose my game files, custom keyboards, and other data?

ANSWER:

  1. Insert the FireScout Football permanent license CD into the CD-ROM drive. The installation wizard should start automatically.
  2. Choose to create the "Backup" folder and choose the scouting program that you want to install.* The "Backup" folder is created in the "VS2002" folder.
  3. Follow the instructions for completing the remainder of the installation wizard.
  4. In the "Backup" folder, delete the *.exe file, the shortcut file, the register.dat file, and the license.dat file.
  5. Move the remaining files from the "Backup" folder to the data folder of the program. The following list gives the data folder for each FireScout program.

    ProgramData Folder
    FireScout Football Defensefb_def
    FireScout Football Offensefb_off
    FireScout Basketballfb_baskQK
    FireScout Baseballfb_base
    FireScout Hockeyfb_hockKey
    FireScout Soccerfb_socc
    FireScout Volleyballfb_voll
  6. When you start the program, it will ask you to register the product with Quik Scout. You can register in one of three easy ways.

*For FireScout Football, you will need to do two installations. First, install Offensive Scouting. Once you have copied the files from the "Backup" folder to the "off_fb" folder, you can install Defensive Scouting.

Follow the same procedure if you are upgrading from the 30-Day Try-and-Buy program to either the
annual subscription or the permanent license.
