FireScout's Contribution to a Turnaround

This issue of the Quik Scout newsletter focuses on Mercyhurst Prep High School Assistant Football Coach Ryan Abbott from Pennsylvania. He uses FireScout Football for a combination of things throughout the entire year, not just during football season. We’d like to thank Coach Abbott for sharing his experiences using FireScout Football and congratulate him on his team’s quick turnaround.

My staff and I have been using FireScout for the past two season and have seen our record improve from 1-8 to 6-4 and finally an 11-1 record this past season.  The FireScout software has helped us tremendously during the last two years and it has helped us in several different areas.  It has allowed us to self-scout during the season, looking for tendencies by simply using a few easy to use commands within the program.  FireScout has also allowed us easy access to our opponents’ film and their tendencies against us. 

We have also been able to use the software as a teaching tool both in-season and in the off-season.  With a few simple search commands, we have instant access to any plays being run in nearly any situation we can imagine.  It has been great to pull up cut-ups of our plays in action against various defenses and show them to the team during the week so they can better prepare for the game.  Another area that FireScout has had a profound impact on our program is the ability to make high-quality player highlight films to send to interested colleges.  We have received many compliments on the films we have created and sent out using this software. 

Overall, FireScout has provided us with a simple-to-use and affordable video editing system.  I have had experience with other video editing software and FireScout has performed as well as, if not better, than any other system.  The format is easy to understand and easily customizes to our offense and defensive systems.  The search function gives us a many options to narrow down our searches to exactly what we need in the shortest time possible.  FireScout is a great value and has helped us in numerous ways to create a successful football program.  I would highly recommend it to any program looking for an affordable video editing software package!
