FireScout Football in Action:
Coach Yonts from Walla Walla gave us his story of how he uses Fire
Scout throughout the entire year to prepare for games.
Each week during the season, we input data on our offense and our
opponent’s offense. First we produce printed reports of everything
to look for tendencies in our opponents play calling. After we have
the reports, we begin making cutups of our opponents top three run
plays and top three pass plays. Not only do our coaches study these,
but we burn DVD's for some of our key defensive players to take home
and study for the week to prepare for the upcoming game. We also store
these segments on the desktop on my computer in the coach’s office
so players can stop by any time during the week and take a quick look
at what we need to stop in our opponent’s offense for the week. We
also use the photo feature to take snapshots of defensive alignment
against formations similar to what we run. We laminate these and take
these to practice to illustrate coaching point to particular players
and to help our scout team line up properly. About halfway through the
season, we will print a report to self-scout our offensive calls to
make sure we aren't falling into any tendencies ourselves.
As soon as our season ends, we begin using Fire Scout to do printed
reports of efficiency and study our down and distance success for the
season. We also take a look at what plays we ran out of each formation
to plan our plays for next season. We then use Fire Scout to make
cutups of each and every play to study on film and determine mistakes
made or ways to alter each. One of the best things we do is sort all
of our runs that gained under four yards, and look for common problems
to correct for spring. After we have studied ourselves, we begin
putting together training tape to use for instructing our players in
the spring, especially our incoming freshmen.
Prior to spring and fall practice, our staff meets to prepare. I was
able to take snapshots of how teams align to each of our formations
and use those in a presentation to our staff so we could effectively
plan blocking schemes against common defensive alignments. We then
give our coaches copies of the photos to refer to during the season.
Overall Fire Scout has been an integral part of our coaching and
teaching and we can't imagine going back to the way we used to do
things.

Live FireScout demo
via the Internet:
The advent of broadband internet technology to support streaming video
has enabled QuikScout to provide coaches live product demonstrations
wherever you have access to a computer, high speed internet connection
and a telephone. Using one of the industries most advanced online
meeting solutions, QuikScout personnel can demonstrate the FireScout
application live to you, your coaches or your booster club. By doing
this, we enable you to effectively evaluate whether FireScout Football
is the right video editing software solution for you. Additionally,
demonstrations can ultimately include Booster Club meetings who
frequently provide funding for much, if not all, of the solution.
Soon, we will publish a list of regularly scheduled demonstrations for
you to register and attend. Although the demonstrations are conducted
via the internet, the demonstrations are held to no more than 10
attendees in order to provide adequate attention to each coach’s
questions. During the demonstrations, you will log on to a website
provide to you by QuikScout and join a teleconference line for the
audio portion. In this fashion, you will see a live product
demonstration on your computer with the ability to ask questions, in
real time, to the QuikScout representative.
If do not want to wait for the list of scheduled demonstrations to
come out and want to schedule a demonstration now, please email sales@quikscout.com
and arrange for a live demonstration.
